Alot of changes are beginning to take shape at Westport Plaza west of Fairfield. Barb Wire Grill, which was destroyed by fire on June 16th is on track to re-open in the former Flat Iron Grill location in Westport Plaza sometime in March. Barb Wire Grill owner, Mandy Bell says remodeling is ongoing in the new location and the construction crew anticipates being finished with the project near the end of February. More details on the re-opening of Barb Wire Grill will be announced in the future. Also new businesses will be occupying space at Westport Plaza. Stacey West of Fairfield will be opening a new retail boutique and craft vendor mall. Her retail boutique, Bling Things and More LTD will feature new and handmade crafts and will be located directly across from the new Barb Wire Grill. Her business will have a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting ceremony conducted by the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, January 8th at 1pm. Winter hours will be Wednesday thru Friday from 10am to 5pm and Saturday 11am to 4pm, closed Sunday, Monday & Tuesday. Spring time hours will be Tuesday thru Friday 10am to 5pm, Saturday 11am to 4pm closed Sunday. West says the vendor mall has 11 booth rental spaces which are separate 10 x 10 rooms and currently, all but two rooms are rented out. Also 6 to 8 foot table spaces will be also available for rent.
Another resale shop and thrift store, This & That owned by Tim & Misty White and Jonnie Steury will be opening for business the first weekend in January.
Charles & Stacey West will be opening a Community Center in March. Stacey West says a name for the Community Center is yet to be determined and it will be directly located behind Bling Things and More and will also have rental space available for parties, showers, funeral dinners and will also be providing a kitchen/concession stand type area. West says the center will be family oriented featuring an arcade area including gaming systems, stand up arcades, flat screen TVs, board games and card games and a princess party room for young girls. West indicates the Community Center will also feature various classes being held and taught by local and area instructors. The Community Center will be open on weekends only when not rented out with hours being Friday and Saturday 5pm to 10pm and Sundays from 12 noon to 4pm.
