On Saturday, the White County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in Norris City involving a Norris City man, Curtis Moss, who was alleged to have struck a family member and threatened them with a firearm. Following their investigation, deputies secured a signed complaint for Aggravated Battery and additional charges. Sheriff Weiss, alongside Norris City Police Chief Dustin Dale, called for extra support from deputies and officers. After several unsuccessful attempts to convince Moss to come to the door, the ILEAS SWAT team was brought in to execute a search warrant at the residence. Moss was taken into custody without incident on charges including Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Domestic Battery, and Aggravated Battery and transported to the White County Jail in Carmi.
