ARTIC COLD AIR CONTINUES IN THE REGION TODAY BEFORE A SLIGHT WARMUP BEGINS

By Mark Wells Jan 15, 2025 | 5:59 AM

The National Weather Service in Paducah says another reinforcing shot of arctic air is poised to move through the area today. With it a string of mostly sunny skies expected for a good part of the day as well with wind chill values today hovering around -3.  Overnight tonight, temperatures should remain steady in the mid 20s and a reminder with this dangerous cold,  it would be wise to keep a faucet dripping to make sure your pipes don’t freeze. Also, make sure you’re layering up today as frost bite is a huge issue with temperatures of this nature and don’t forget about your furry friends as well and limit their time outside.   A slight warmup is expected as we head into the weekend with the forecast indicating rain Friday night into Saturday.
