Wayne County State’s Attorney Kyle Ellis has hired Rhonda Dinn of Carmi to fill the vacant Assistant State’s Attorney’s position beginning this past week, January 6th. “I knew Ms. Dinn by reputation as a capable and experienced attorney. After several discussions with her about the role of the state’s attorney’s office and having now had a chance to see her in action in the courtroom, I am confident she will be a benefit to our office and the community. Ms. Dinn is passionate about her work, extremely knowledgeable, and a fierce advocate for justice and commonsense.” said Ellis.
Attorney Dinn earned her Juris Doctorate at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She was a sole practitioner from 2006 through 2016, dealing primarily in family law. She also served as White County Assistant Public Defender for 16 years, in addition to holding similar positions in Jefferson and Wabash Counties.
I’m excited to be joining the Wayne County State’s Attorney team and will work hard for the people of Wayne County,” said Dinn.
The Assistant State’s Attorney position was previously held by Kyle Ellis until December 1st, 2024 when he was appointed to the vacant State’s Attorney’s position after former State’s Attorney Kevin Kakac stepped down.
