The Wayne County 4-H program is hosting a Meet the 4-H Projects workshop, where local youth can explore 4-H, meet current 4-H members and leaders, and learn more about the various projects 4-H offers. Local youth and families are encouraged to attend the workshop any time between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 22nd at the Wayne County Extension office at 2B Frontier Drive, Fairfield, IL. Youth ages 8-18, as of September 1st, 2024, are eligible to join 4-H and are encouraged to attend. Current 4-H members interested in exploring new 4-H projects are also welcome to participate.
Youth attendees can create projects such as a flower arrangement or popcan reel while exploring floriculture, sportfishing, visual arts, cooking, and more. Workshops will be led by members of the Country Kids 4-H club and Wayne County 4-H Ambassadors. 4-H leaders will be on-site to provide information about 4-H meetings and showing projects at the Wayne County 4-H Fair. Extension staff will be available to assist youth with enrolling in 4-H. The deadline to enroll in 4-H and be eligible to participate in the Fair is March 1st.
Registration for Meet the 4-H Projects is available online at go.illinois.edu/Meet4H and will close on February 17th. For additional questions about 4-H or the event, please contact the Wayne County Extension office at 618-842-3702. If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate, please contact Ryan Littlejohn, Wayne County 4-H program coordinator, at rclittle@illinois.edu.
