Eva Lorene Dial age 95, a former resident of McLeansboro, IL., passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Axiom Nursing Home, Mt. Vernon, IL.
Lorene was born April 12, 1929 in Flannigan Township. She married William Henry “Jill” Dial December 25, 1946 in Braden Valley Church. Jill passed away October 24, 2015.
Lorene was a daughter of James Roy Smith and Eva Fay (Broyles) Smith.
She was a retired seamstress of Elder Manufacturing Company, Lare Enterprise, McLeansboro, IL.
Lorene was a member of the First General Baptist Church and she loved to travel along with attending church activities. She enjoyed being with friends and family.
Survivors include her sister-in-law Betty Smith, Columbia, MO. Lorene was like a mother to Pamela Lorene (Graddy) Faulkenberg, Tammy (Graddy) Davis and Brent Graddy. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews; Great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, brother Harold Roy Smith and wife Helen and Thelma and Roger Graddy and a brother, Donald Smith
Visitation for Lorene Dial will be Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, IL. Speaker will be Bob Brockett. Burial will follow at Braden Valley Cemetery, McLeansboro, IL.
