The Illinois Department on Aging (IDoA) is calling for nominations for the 2025 induction class of the Senior Illinoisans Hall of Fame, which celebrates the achievements of Illinois residents aged 65 and older.

Every year, four older adults are inducted into the Hall of Fame for their exceptional work in the arts, sports, and entertainment; community service; education; or the labor force. Nominations are open to anyone wishing to recognize an older adult.

Eligibility criteria for nominees include:

Must be at least 65 years old at the time of nomination.

Must be a current resident of Illinois or have lived in Illinois for the majority of their life.

Posthumous nominations are accepted as long as the nominee was 65 or older and residing in Illinois at the time of their passing.

To ensure consideration for the 2025 induction class, nominations must be submitted by June 2, 2025. Nominators of new Hall of Fame inductees are expected to participate in an award ceremony that honors their nominee and showcases their achievements.

“The Senior Illinoisans Hall of Fame recognizes remarkable older adults who have made and continue to make significant contributions to their communities,” said IDoA Acting Director Mary Killough. “If you know someone who meets this criteria, please nominate them to receive the recognition they deserve.”

Completed nomination forms can be submitted electronically or sent via U.S. mail, fax, or email.
