A federal jury is convicting former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan on conspiracy and bribery charges.  Following eleven days of jury deliberations, the former Illinois House speaker was found guilty yesterday on ten counts against him, including three counts of wire fraud and two counts of bribery.  Jurors acquitted Madigan on seven counts, and the judge declared a mistrial on six others the jury couldn’t decide on.  The judge also declared a mistrial on all six counts against Madigan’s co-defendant, Michael McClain.  The verdicts were handed down after a four-month trial.  No sentencing date has been set.
