Nearly 500,000 LG electric ovens have been recalled across the nation following a safety alert from LG Electronics and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The recall comes after the ovens were linked to over two dozen fires, resulting in multiple injuries.
The issue stems from the front-mounted knobs, which can be accidentally turned, leading to at least 86 unintended oven activations. Reports indicate a total of eight injuries, including burns, and at least five fires have caused property damage amounting to $340,000.
These LG ovens were sold at major retailers such as Best Buy, Costco, The Home Depot, Lowe’s, and online at LG.com from 2015 until January 2025. Consumers are advised to check their appliances and follow safety guidelines regarding the recall.
