Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies and Wayne City First Responders were called to a report of a single vehicle traffic accident Sunday afternoon around 3:30 at the First United Methodist Church at 106 Race St. in Wayne City. Deputies say 33-year-old Dakota J Withrow of Sims was driving a 2008 Chevrolet truck northbound on Race St. when the truck left the roadway and struck the church. Withrow admitted to consuming lots of alcohol prior to the crash. Withrow refused medical treatment at the scene and he also refused a field sobriety test. Withrow was transported to the Wayne County Jail where he blew a .180 on the states breathalyzer. Withrow was charged with DUI and Failure To Reduce Speed To Avoid An Accident. Withrow was booked into the Wayne County Jail.
