The Illinois State Fire Marshal is currently investigating a house fire that occurred Monday morning on Illinois 14 in McLeansboro.
According to the McLeansboro Fire Department, multiple fire departments and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene around 10:50 a.m. following several 911 calls reporting the fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a house trailer with an enclosed front porch engulfed in heavy flames, which had spread to the main structure. Due to challenging wind conditions, the home’s construction, and limited manpower, additional resources were requested to support the McLeansboro fire station.
Fire crews remained on the scene for approximately five hours, working to extinguish the fire and conduct overhaul operations. The occupants of the home have been displaced and are currently receiving assistance from the American Red Cross. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to either fire personnel or residents during this incident.
