FAIRFIELD RURAL FIRE DEPARTMENT SENT TO THE INTERSTATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT FOR TREES ON FIRE

Fairfield Rural Fire Department responded Wednesday night just after 7:30 to a motorist’s report of the top of trees on fire, I-64 WB Milepost 109.  Fairfield Rural Fire Chief, David Vaughan says a farmer was burning drifts of cornstalks which ended up blowing into the tree tops causing the fire.
