Recently, the Edwards County FFA participated in the Section 23 Poultry CDE held at North Clay High School in Louisville. For this competition, members were required to take a general knowledge test, candle eggs to determine the interior grade, evaluate and grade exterior eggs, evaluate and grade chicken carcasses, identify defects in further processed products, and identify different poultry carcass parts. Members of the team included Emily Spray, Parker Biggs, Cali Bunting, Alexa Prather, Jake Wiseman, Gabe Wyatt, Cody Greathouse, Hayley Perry, and Cheyenne Duncan. Overall, the team placed 4th with Emily Spray as Edwards County’s highest scoring individual, placing 7th. The team also traveled to the Murray State Field Day where they placed 7th out of over 50 teams from Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee, and Indiana.
