73-year-old Brenda K. Johnson of Grayville was taken into custody on a Class-4 felony charge of violating an active order of protection, with prior convictions for domestic battery. The charge was filed in Edwards County Circuit Court on Tuesday.
Johnson is accused of violating an order of protection obtained by Charles Johnson. She has a previous domestic violence conviction from May of last year.
Associate Judge Lindsey D. Waldrop approved the state’s motion to deny pretrial release for Johnson. She remains incarcerated in the White County jail, pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 9th in Edwards County Circuit Court.
