The City of Albion, in partnership with Sunrise Sanitation, has announced that the annual Spring City-Wide Clean Up will take place on Friday, May 2nd. This service is exclusively for residents living within Albion city limits.
To participate, residents must place all acceptable items neatly at the curb no later than the evening before the scheduled clean-up day. Items that do not meet the guidelines will not be collected.
Items Not Accepted Include:
Yard waste such as grass clippings, leaves, brush, tree material, and landscaping timbers
Rock, concrete, and construction materials (including roofing, siding, demolition debris, remodeling waste, and lumber). Small amounts may be accepted if they fit in a 5-gallon bucket. No wood is allowed unless it is part of furniture.
Metal or wood fencing (including chicken wire and tomato cages)
Tires and wet paint cans
Automobile parts, lawn mowers, and small engine components
All electronic devices
Any items deemed unacceptable by the EPA
Items exceeding a 4×4 pile, including abandoned rental property contents
Additionally, employees will not sort through materials. If any unapproved item is placed on top of approved items, none of the materials will be collected.
To ensure efficient pickup, residents are encouraged to place smaller items in boxes or bags. All small items must be bagged for pickup.
Sunrise Sanitation appreciates the community’s cooperation in helping keep Albion clean and safe during this annual event.
