62-year-old Wayne City resident Bradley V. Gammon appeared by Zoom in Wayne County Circuit Court last week, asking the judge for an in-person court appearance. Gammon is seeking the return of two vehicles and cash seized by Anson Fenton, the former Wayne City Police Chief who has pleaded guilty to the theft and eventual sale of forfeited vehicles.

While Judge Denton Aud denied Gammon’s motion for an in-person appearance, he used his court appearance to demand the return of a Harley Davidson motorcycle, a Dodge Dakota pickup truck, and over $10,000 in cash seized by Chief Fenton.

Judge Aud advised that any questions about seized property need to be taken up in a separate motion. He added that the only purpose of the hearing was to decide if an in-person appearance would be approved.

Bradley Gammon is serving a 10-year prison sentence at the Pinckneyville Correctional Center for a Wayne County methamphetamine offense. He is set to be paroled sometime next year.

Former Wayne City Chief Anson Fenton is set for sentencing July 30th at 10:30am in U.S. District Court at East St. Louis.
