The Wayne County Board is set to hold its upcoming regular meeting this Thursday, May 8th, at 7 p.m. The session will take place upstairs at the Wayne County Courthouse.
On the agenda, the board will then review and approve the minutes from the April meeting.
Public comment will be open, with a special announcement from Republican Chairman Ron Woodrow, who will introduce Cody Ehrhart as a replacement for Ronnie Windland, who recently resigned from District 4. Additionally, Ryan Littlejohn and Katie Bell from the Wayne County Extension will be present.
Chairman’s comments and any appointments will be addressed, followed by old business—a discussion regarding Animal Control, led by Loy Hosselton.
Office reports are also on the agenda, including updates from the Highway Department, which will seek approval for a resolution to allocate funds from the County Bridge Fund to Leech Bridge, along with a joint funding agreement for the same project. Reports from the State’s Attorney, Circuit Clerk, Sheriff, County Clerk, Treasurer, Supervisor of Assessments, Coroner, and Health Department will also be provided.
In new business, the board will consider a resolution of support and commitment of funds for the Greater Wabash Regional Planning Commission, totaling nearly six thousand dollars.
Finally, committee reports will be given, covering claims and finance, sheriff, EMA, animal control and welfare, road and bridge, insurance and education, building and grounds, economic development, rules and policy, and the liquor commission. The meeting begins at 7pm and is open to the public.
