Mt. Vernon, IL Native Joins Second Circuit as Court Reporter Specialist

Second Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Melissa Morgan is pleased to announce she has hired Mt. Vernon native Grace Wilson as a Court Reporter Specialist.  Ms. Wilson will be headquartered at the Wayne County Courthouse, but may be assinged as needed to other counties within the Circuit.

A graduate of Mt. Vernon Township High School, Wilson has studied at the Court Reporting and Captioning Program at Lake Land Community College.  She is scheduled to complete the Illinois Courts’ Court Specialist certification program this summer which will include training on administrative regulations, electronic recording equipment, the new form book, and transcript preparation.  She is also preparing for the additional certification examination to become an Official Certified Shorthand Reporter.

Chief Judge Morgan expressed her support for Wilson stating, “I am excited to have Ms. Wilson join the Circuit as a Court Reporter Specialist.  We are fortunate to have someone with her skills and professionalism in this position, and she is an excellent addition to the Court Reporters and Court Specialists we have.  On behalf of the Judges of the Second Circuit, we welcome her and look forward to working with her.”

The Second Judicial Circuit is comprised of 12 counties: Crawford, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jefferson, Lawrence, Richland, Wabash, Wayne, and White.
