River Stages

Here’s the river stages as of this morning:  the latest stage was just over 24 feet.  Flood stage east of Fairfield is 17 feet.  At Clay City the stage is 16.27 feet.  Flood stage at Clay City is 18 feet.  At Carmi the river is at 27.32 feet, just above flood stage.  The Skillet Fork at Wayne City is at 8.3 feet.  Flood stage is 15 feet.  The Wabash River at Mt. Carmel is at 12.78 feet.  Flood stage is 19 feet, and the Bonpas Creek at Browns reads 8.55 feet.

A dry weeknend is expected with temperatures close to normal.  Rain chances, with chances for thunderstorms, return to the area by Monday.  A warmup is expected later next week, with a feel of summertime by later next week.  High temperatures are expected to rise into the upper 80s, and an increase in humidity is also expected.  Warmer  and wetter conditions are also expected, according to the extended forecasts.
