Wayne County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a one-vehicle accident Wednesday morning around 8:30on U.S. Hwy 45 at County Road 2300N in Bedford Township and just North of the Rinard Crossroads. Deputies say a 2009 Ford Focus driven by 37-year-old Robert Wicke of Clay City was traveling northbound on Hwy 45 when the driver told deputies he fell asleep. The vehicle overcorrected and crashed into a guardrail. The vehicle received damage and was towed from the scene. Clay County Ambulance personnel responded to the scene but the driver, Wicke refused treatment along with a female passenger in the vehicle from Albion.
