Mike Chapman, 65, of Norris City passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. He was born in Carmi on September 3, 1959, the son of Doyle Glenn and Betty (Downs) Chapman. Mike drove a tanker truck in the oil field. He loved being on the farm and helping his brother, and always wanting to know what they’d be working on. Mike enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing and spending time with his dog, Lucky.
Mike is survived by his mother, Betty Chapman; daughters, Amy Clifford and Rachel Pezzoni; siblings, Lyndel (Rhonda) Chapman and Myra Austin; along with several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Chapman, a brother-in-law, Wally Austin and a nephew, Nathan Baldwin.

Graveside funeral services and burial for Mike Chapman, 65, of Norris City will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mike’s memory to Union Ridge Presbyterian Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Donations may also be mailed to 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL 62821.
