Two Fairfield men were arrested by Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies Wednesday afternoon.
28-year-old Russell William Tyler was taken into custody for Aggravated Assault and Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer. At approximately 1:30pm, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office took a complaint at a residence at a rural Fairfield residence. They stated Tyler of rural Fairfield had came on their property with a hammer and threatened to kill the family. A short time later deputies located Tyler and he fled on foot through a wooded area. Tyler was caught and restrained then placed in handcuffs. Tyler was transported to the Wayne County Jail were he is being held pending a court appearance.
19-year-old Joseph Edward Wilson was arrested on a Wayne County warrant for Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol Under 21 and Operation of Vehicle with Cancelled, Suspended or Revoked Registration. Wilson was also lodged in the Wayne County Jail pending a court appearance.
