The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department reported two arrests on Thursday both involving methamphetamine-related offenses.
At approximately 11:45 a.m., deputies located Marshall Garrison, 40, of Centralia, Illinois. Authorities were aware Garrison had an active warrant out of Jefferson County for possession of methamphetamine. He was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Jail, where he is being held pending transfer to Jefferson County.
Later that evening, around 7:30 p.m., deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Phillip Bailey, 63, of Fairfield. Deputies had prior knowledge that Bailey’s Illinois driver’s license was revoked. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a plastic bag containing methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe.
Bailey was arrested and is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail, awaiting a detainment hearing.
