
The Fairfield Public School District #112 Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, May 19th at 6:00pm in the Center Street School Boardroom. The meeting will include a full agenda ranging from board appointments to key budget discussions.
The meeting will begin with roll call and the appointment of a new board member, followed by the administration of the oath of office. Citizens will then have the opportunity to speak on non-agenda items during the public comment section.
Key items under review include:
Approval of minutes from the May 12th regular and closed sessions.
Financial reports, including the treasurer’s report, payroll, and monthly bills.
The Superintendent’s Report will include:
A revenue-to-expense update.
Food service and transportation reports.
First readings of the tentative amended FY25 budget, the FY26 student handbook, and policy updates under PRESS Issue 118.
Review of the Dennis Rose & Associates engagement letter and the latest building report.
An action item on the audit engagement letter is expected to follow the superintendent’s report.
Principals’ updates will be given for both Center Street School and North Side School, with the opportunity for board member requests and comments before the meeting enters closed session. The closed session will focus on personnel, collective bargaining, and other legal and administrative matters.
Upon returning to open session, the board is scheduled to act on several staffing issues, including:
The resignation of a paraprofessional.
The employment of a new bus driver.
A contract decision for non-certified staff.
The meeting will conclude with informational items and adjournment.
Additionally, the board announced a public hearing for June 18th at 6:00pm also at the Center Street School Board Room, to present and discuss the tentative amended FY25 budget.
