The Noble Lions Club will once again sponsor the Noble Freedom Festival and Parade, set to take place on Saturday, June 28th, at the Noble Village Park, with the majority of events scheduled between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The event promises a day of family-friendly entertainment, with activities for children and adults alike. Attendees can enjoy displays of tractors, lawnmowers, cars and trucks, along with live music, a craft and flea market, and various children’s activities provided by area churches. Kids can look forward to Balloons by Kimberly, face painting, and barrel train rides. Craft and flea market vendors will be set up between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
One of the festival’s highlights includes free watermelon, served by the Noble Lions Club starting at 11 a.m. Lunch options will be available for purchase at Noble Foods Deli, The Tin Cup, Thies Concessions, and Smokin’ Pig Concessions, all located on site.
A flag-raising ceremony honoring veterans will kick off the festival at 11 a.m.
The Noble Freedom Festival Parade will begin at 1 p.m., with participants assembling at the IECC West Richland Center no later than 12:30 p.m. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department will lead the parade, followed by the Noble-Wakefield Fire Department, Richland County Fair Queen Contestants, and a wide variety of entries including tractors, cars, trucks, lawnmowers, businesses, churches, and political groups.
The parade route will leave the IECC West Richland Center at 1 p.m., travel west on Illinois Route 250, head north on Noble Avenue, then turn east on Poplar Street, returning to the IECC center—this follows the traditional Noble May Day Parade route. Parade participants are encouraged to throw out candy along the route.
