Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City will mark a milestone this year as it hosts its 50th annual Memorial Day Services on Monday, May 26th at 2 p.m.
The program will begin with a welcome by Sharon White, followed by an opening prayer from Gary Cline.
The Wayne City Boy Scouts will lead attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance, and Jennifer Cline will perform the national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner.
Chris Draper will honor fallen heroes by reading the names of veterans buried in Thomason Cemetery over the past year.
This year’s featured Memorial Day speaker will be Lamar Choate.
The ceremony will conclude with a tribute by American Legion Post 176 and VFW Post 4535. The closing will include the placement of a Memorial Wreath at the Veteran’s Monument, a 21-gun salute by the Color Guard Firing Squad, and the playing of Taps.
Everyone is welcome to attend and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating.
