The community of Fairfield will gather to honor fallen service members during a Memorial Day service at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 26th at Maple Hill Cemetery.
The ceremony will feature remarks by guest speaker D.K. Wood. Elizabeth Scarbrough will perform the National Anthem, and members of the Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and the Wayne County Post #4535 VFW will present a 21-gun salute in tribute to those who gave their lives in service to the nation.
In the event of rain, the service will still be held at 11 a.m., but will be moved indoors to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
