The Edwards County Memorial Post #8222 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, together with members of the Albion American Legion Post #590, will conduct their annual Memorial Day services today (Monday) to honor the memory of those who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
The group will visit twelve local cemeteries, followed by a public memorial program at the Memorial Arch on the Edwards County Courthouse Square in Albion.
The approximate schedule for cemetery services is as follows:
Birk – 7:00 a.m.
Mt. Zion – 7:15 a.m.
Wanborough – 7:30 a.m.
Little Prairie – 7:45 a.m.
Samaria Baptist – 8:00 a.m.
Pleasant Hill – 8:15 a.m.
West Village – 8:30 a.m.
Bone Gap – 8:45 a.m.
Union – 9:00 a.m.
Browns – 9:15 a.m.
Graceland – 9:30 a.m.
Old Albion – 9:45 a.m.
The public program at the courthouse square will begin at 10:00 a.m., weather permitting. The featured speaker will be Alan Wright of the Keensburg Christian Church.
Organizers note that all times are approximate and encourage the public to attend and participate in honoring local veterans.
