Linda Marie Miles, 67, of Carmi

Linda Marie Miles, 67, of Carmi, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, Illinois. She was born on July 20, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Robert  A. and Eunice “Sue” (Davis) Miller. Linda married the love of her life,  Marvin J. Miles on December 26, 2011, and he preceded her in death on September 3, 2018. She was of the Christian faith. Linda enjoyed going on vacations and traveling with her husband. She also enjoyed playing board games, cards, going on hikes and watching the Voice. Most of all, Linda’s greatest passion was her grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Beth (Scott Biggerstaff) McWhirter, and Heather (Josh Smith) Bassemier; step-sons, Danny and Doug Miles; grandchildren, Aerielle McWhirter, Ana McWhirter, Ayla Smith, Kaiden Smith and Evan Smith; siblings, Steve A. Miller, Mike (Gina) Miller, Darlene (Bob) Bartley; Aerielle and Ana’s father, Jordan McWhirter; The father of her daughters, Terry Bassemier; a sister-in-law, Carmie Inghram; and special nieces and nephews, Tina, Chris, Brian, Helen, Angie, Lisa, Ashley, Michelle, Holly Jo, Dalton and Hannah. In addition to her husband, Marvin Miles, Linda is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles W. Inghram; and a sister-in-law, Nellie Hibbs.

A memorial service will be held for Linda Marie Miles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, with inurnment, at Leamington Cemetery at Junction, Illinois. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.,m. until time of service on Saturday, May, 31, 2025, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
