THRIFT HAVEN LAUNCHES EMERGENCY TORNADO RELIEF DRIVE FOR STORM VICTIMS

By Mark Wells May 27, 2025 | 11:57 AM

In response to the devastating tornadoes that recently struck communities in St. Louis and Kentucky, Thrift Haven in Fairfield has launched an Emergency Tornado Relief Drive to support displaced families in desperate need of basic supplies and assistance.

With entire neighborhoods left without homes, essentials, or hope, Thrift Haven is stepping up—and asking the public to join in. The organization is collecting new items only to ensure cleanliness and quality for those impacted.

Requested donations include:

Hygiene products (soap, toothbrushes, feminine care, etc.)

Baby supplies (diapers, wipes, formula)

Non-perishable snacks

Basic necessities (blankets, socks, undergarments)

Donations can be dropped off at Thrift Haven, 119 E Main St., Fairfield, IL, during regular store hours:

Monday–Thursday: 10 AM–6 PM

Friday–Saturday: 10 AM–7 PM

(Back door alley drop-off available)

In addition to item donations, monetary contributions are also accepted. These funds will be used to fill a relief trailer and deliver supplies as quickly as possible to affected communities.

“We’re committed to helping families in crisis, and we need our community’s help to make that possible,” said organizers. “Together, we can bring urgent support and hope to those who’ve lost so much.”
