TWO-VEHICLE ACCIDENT SATURDAY AFTERNOON SEND TWO INDIVIDUALS TO THE HOSPITAL

Wayne County Sheriff’s Department handled a two-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon on County Highway 1 in Zif Township.  Deputies say just before 1:30 Saturday afternoon, a 2013 Chevrolet Captiva driven by 24-year-old Ethan Bare of Fairfield was traveling south on County Highway 1 when the Bare vehicle failed to reduce speed as a 1995 Dodge Ram truck driven by 57-year-old Don Anthony L Roberts of Clay City was slowing to make a left turn into a private drive.  The Bare vehicle struck the Roberts vehicle in the rear end causing the Roberts vehicle to overturn coming to a rest in the ditch.  The Bare vehicle then traveled into the ditch coming to a rest.  Both Bare and Roberts were transported from the scene by Clay County Ambulance personnel to Clay County Hospital in Flora.    Ethan Bare was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid An Accident.
