Over the coming weeks, USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) will carry out its annual June Agricultural Survey. Nearly 92,000 farmers across the country will be contacted to provide vital information on crop acreage and stock levels as of June 1st.
Producers can respond to the survey online at agcounts.usda.gov, by phone, or by mail. The survey collects data on planted and harvested acreage—including biotech crops—and grain stocks.
The results will be published in key USDA reports, including the Annual Acreage Report and Quarterly Grain Stocks Report, both set for release on June 30th. These findings also feed into other major NASS publications such as monthly and annual crop production reports, the Annual Small Grains Summary, the Farms and Land in Farms Report, the Land Values Report, various livestock reports, and USDA’s World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE).
