The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that maintenance work on the Interstate 64 bridge over Illinois 37 in Jefferson County is scheduled to take place overnight tonight ( Wednesday) weather permitting.
During the work, the eastbound lane of I-64 at milepost 80, just east of Mt. Vernon, will be closed. Additionally, the entrance ramp from Illinois 37 to eastbound I-64 will be closed.
Drivers are advised to stay alert for changing conditions and posted signage, obey all speed limits, avoid using mobile devices, and watch for workers and equipment in the area.
