Tristin Cain, 27 of McLeansboro was arrested Wednesday, May 28 on charges he sexually assaulted two children under the age of 13. His arrest follows an investigation initiated by McLeansboro City Police on May 23 after officers received a complaint involving a juvenile who had disclosed being molested by a family member.
Working in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and the Amy Center, a second victim was identified.
On Wednesday, police interviewed Tristin and he allegedly confirmed the accusations, which resulted in his arrest. Cain has been jailed. The Hamilton County State’s Attorney, Justin Hood has filed a motion to deny pretrial release in Cain’s case. Cain remains in custody.
