The Fairfield Rural Fire Department responded to a report of a Wayne County farmer’s hay baler on fire Tuesday afternoon. The location was at 1134 County Road 1500 North, west of Geff. The farmer, not immediately identified, was able to save his tractor by disconnecting it from the baler before firefighters arrived. About an acre of hay also burned in the blaze. No one was injured.
