Wayne County, in partnership with its townships, Southern 14, and WADI, is offering a unique 12-week workforce development program funded by a grant. The program seeks motivated candidates aged 16 to 24 to gain hands-on job experience and develop valuable skills.
Participants may be tasked with duties such as weed eating and mowing, shoveling and patching, backhoe operation (training provided), tilling road shoulders with tractor and tiller (training provided), and power washing.
Candidates interested in obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) can explore that option through an additional program.
Important program notes:
Candidates must be between 16 and 24 years old per grant requirements.
Some townships require candidates to be 18 or older due to insurance policies.
Candidates cannot currently or previously have worked for the township to which they are applying.
Pay starts at $15 per hour.
