The Fairfield Lions Club partnered with teachers and students across Wayne County to identify fifth-graders who exemplify outstanding character and community spirit throughout the school year.
The Lions asked teachers and students to select up to five classmates from each school who have demonstrated helpfulness, kindness, leadership, and community service. The qualities they looked for included being helpful at all times, assisting classmates and teachers, showing appreciation to lunch staff, helping after school, making others feel welcome and included, exhibiting good sportsmanship, and engaging in community service.
This year, Wayne City Grade School students, Elsie Talbert and Kashton Newton were recognized as the Fairfield Lions Club Good Citizens, celebrating their positive influence and outstanding character.
