HIGH SCHOOL TRACK & FIELD:

S.I.C.A. ALL-SOUTH SELECTIONS AND COACH TOWNSEND NAMED 1A BOYS TRACK & FIELD COACH OF THE YEAR

The Southern Illinois Coaches Association All-South selections have been chosen and highlight the top talents across the region, with special recognition for Fairfield Mules Track Coach, Justin Townsend, who was named the S.I.C.A. 1A Boys Track & Field Coach of the Year.

Lady Mule All-South honorees include Ella Sager for her performances in the 1600m and 3200m races, Emily Vaughan for her achievements in the 300 hurdles, Remi Taylor in the 400m, and the 4×100 relay team composed of Myra Copeland, Jensyn Robbins, Emily Vaughan, and Wren Braddock. The 4×200 relay team featuring Myra Copeland, Jensyn Robbins, Macie Edwards, and Wren Braddock also earned All-South honors.

On the boys’ side, Eric Locke was recognized for his discus throw, Justin Johnson and Michael Barner for their performances in the 200m, Holt Gilbert in the 400m, and Skylar Bladel in the 800m. The 4×100 and 4×200 relay teams, including Michael Barner, Miller Simpson, Jude Carter, and Justin Johnson, received accolades, alongside Skylar Bladel, Ashton King, Kanyen Lingafelter, and Treyton Lewis for their success in the 4×800 relay.
