The Board of Trustees of the Illinois Eastern Community College (IECC) District held its regular meeting Tuesday at Lincoln Trail College.
During the meeting, Chancellor Gower recognized Dr. Jay Edgren for his 11 years of dedicated leadership and service to Frontier Community College and the IECC District. In light of Dr. Edgren’s upcoming retirement, Chairman Carter recommended the Board pass a formal resolution honoring Dr. Edgren for his significant contributions.
The Board also approved several affiliation agreements with area organizations, including:

Rehabilitation & Performance Institute

Trilogy Rehab Services, LLC
Wabash County Health Department
Kid’s Kingdom Preschool Inc. Day Care Center

In financial matters, the Board adopted a resolution to issue $6,175,000 in Taxable General Obligation Community College Bonds (Series 2025A) and $865,000 in General Obligation Community College Bonds (Series 2025B). The proceeds will fund current claims and planned capital improvement projects within the district.
Additionally, the Board approved a Trust Agreement with First National Bank in Olney for the Capital Development Board Project at Olney Central College. The project includes replacing the roof of the John D. Stull Theater and Gymnasium, with the District’s $265,000 local share to be deposited into the trust once it is established. An emergency repair to the theater foyer’s flooring was also authorized.
Several Special Assessment Stipends were approved during the session.
The next regular meeting of the IECC Board of Trustees is scheduled for Tuesday, July 15th at 6:15 p.m. at Olney Central College.
