Dorothy Jean Bolerjack, 100 of Carmi

Dorothy Jean Bolerjack, went home to be her with her Lord and Savior, on Friday, June 13, 2025, having attained the age of 100 years and 98 days. She was born on Saturday, March 7, 1925, in Crossville, Illinois, the daughter of Percy and Ruby (Brewer) Rawlinson.

 

After Graduating High School Jean moved to Chicago for work. On one of her trips back to visit her family and friends, she met the love of her life. Doyle Graham Bolerjack, who was returning home from his service in World War Two. They were married on June 29, 1946, and together they shared over 62 years of marriage, before his passing on February, 23, 2008.

 

Jean was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a long-time member of Emmanuel Methodist Church in Carmi and held many positions there. Jean always had a warm smile and greeting for those who came to Art’s grocery, where she worked for over 40 years.

Jean is survived by two sons and their wives, Roger and Kathey Bolerjack of Carmi and Glenn and Jann Bolerjack of The Villages, FL; five grandchildren, Tammy (Jerry) Beals of Calhoun, KY, Brock (Carrie) Bolerjack of Carmi, Brady Bolerjack of Tampa, FL, Adam Bolerjack of Indianapolis, IN and Cory Bolerjack of Carmi, two great-grandchildren, Luke and Juliana Bolerjack of Carmi.

 

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

 

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Ditney Ridge Cemetery, 754 County Road 500 East, Norris City, Illinois. Family and friends may meet at Roberts and Cook Funeral Service, 101 Edgewood Lane, Carmi, Illinois at 11:30 a.m. to proceed to the cemetery.
