FAIRFIELD GRADE SCHOOL BOARD REVIEWS FINANCIALS, APPROVES STAFF CHANGES AND MAINTENANCE PROJECTS

During last week’s meeting of the Fairfield Grade School Board, Superintendent, Kristina Gardner reported that the district has received 92% of its expected revenue and has expended 90% of the budget. The current food service balance stands at $261,053.

 

The board approved Sodexo to provide food service for the upcoming school year.

 

Superintendent Gardner also updated the board on summer maintenance projects. Most of the classrooms at North Side have been cleaned. New sinks and faucets have been delivered for the Center Street restrooms, and work is underway in the Center Street band room. The board also discussed an air conditioning upgrade for the old gym at Center Street.

 

Registration fees for the coming school year were set as follows:

 

Registration: $50

 

Technology: $30

 

Bussing: $80

 

The district’s insurance rates will increase by 8.9%, raising the district’s monthly contribution from $716 to $780 per employee.

 

Following a closed session, the board approved the following personnel actions and accepted the resignations of: Sierra Davis and Caitlin Herald, Paraprofessionals; John Wicker, Band Teacher;  Morgan Bowers, School Nurse; Jazale O’Neal, 8th Grade Basketball Coach and Beth Richards, Beta Club Sponsor.

 

New appointments include: Stevey Ukena and Robert Black, Beta Club Sponsors;

Lori Ellis, Enrichment Sponsor; Raya Horton and Jessica Sidener, Paraprofessionals;

Lindsay Kinsolving, School Nurse; Dewayne Kissner, Assistant Boys Baseball Coach;

Justin Pavot, Band Teacher and  Marybeth Eckleberry, Special Education Coordinator.
