CLAY COUNTY TO HOST FIRST-EVER SUBSTANCE USE RESOURCE & EDUCATION SYMPOSIUM AUGUST 7TH

The Clay County Health Department, in collaboration with the Coalition Against Drug Abuse of Clay County, SIU School of Medicine, and Birth to Five Illinois, will host the county’s first Substance Use Resource & Education (S.U.R.E.) Symposium on Wednesday, August 7th.

 

The event will take place at the Oil Belt Christian Service Camp, with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.

 

Designed to be a community-wide initiative, the S.U.R.E. Symposium aims to provide a safe and informative space for residents, educators, healthcare professionals, and community leaders to learn about substance abuse prevention, recovery, and post-recovery resources.

 

“This event brings together local agencies, experts, and the public to share knowledge, connect with resources, and support one another in addressing substance use issues in our community,” organizers said.

 

Everyone is welcome to attend. Registration is $20 and includes lunch and snacks. Free Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be available for eligible professionals, including:

Teachers

Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW)

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors (LCPC)

Licensed Social Workers (LSW)

Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC)
