Gov. JB Pritzker concluded his statewide re-election tour with a visit to Southern Illinois, making a final stop at IBEW Local 702 in West Frankfort.

The governor met with union members and supporters to discuss the progress made under his leadership.

Governor Pritzker highlighted key legislative measures aimed at strengthening unions. He spoke about fair wages and investing in infrastructure projects that create jobs.

He specifically referenced the “Rebuild Illinois” capital plan as an example of multiple initiatives designed to benefit working class communities.

“Making southern Illinois a priority for private sector jobs, for infrastructure investment, is what it means to make Illinois the best state in the nation to raise a family, to build a business, to live, and it is,” said Governor Pritzker.

Governor Pritzker also touched on his administrations efforts to protect workers’ rights citing the passage of legislation like the “Worker Freedom of Speech Act” which he signed last year banning captive audience meetings.
