Delsie Dorean Lynch, 99 of McLeansboro

Delsie Dorean Lynch departed this life on Sunday, June 29, 2025 peacefully in her room at Fox Meadows Assisted Living, McLeansboro, IL.

Delsie, a daughter of Bobbie Trout and Mabel (Bond) Trout was born on April 24, 1926 in Hamilton County, Illinois. She married Loren Matthew Lynch on February 12, 1945. Loren preceded her in death on January 8, 1984.

Delsie is survived by her children, Dennis Lynch and Dian Shapiro (Terry) of McLeansboro, a daughter-in-law Brenda Lynch of McLeansboro and her twin sister Elsie York, McLeansboro. Grandchildren, Dwain Lynch (Norah) of Pineville, LA., Jason Lynch (Heather) of McLeansboro, Jimmy Lynch (Cindi) of McLeansboro, Nicholas (Amy) of Madisonville, KY., Lacey Braden (Nathan) of McLeansboro, Justin Flora of Evansville, IN, Jamie Brock (Rodney) of McLeansboro and Matt Hutchcraft (Crystal) of McLeansboro; great grandchildren, Daniel Lynch, David Lynch, Laney Billington, Lexey Rister, Erica Desch, Cody and Blake Lynch, Brayden and Olivia Lynch, Henley and Emerson Braden, Brylee Flora, Elena and Alicia Lynch. Also a great-great grandchild, Magnolia Rister, and many nieces and nephews survive. Special friend Pam Brock and accepted as family members Todd and Ethan Tracy, three little young ladies Olivia, Savannah and Rosie.

Delsie is preceded in death by her husband Loren Lynch, parents Bobbie and Mabel Trout, son Donald Lynch and brothers Herschel, Orlan and Kenneth Trout. Sisters Dollie Smith, Effie Smith Grace Millenbine and daughter-in-law Barbara Lunch.

Delsie was a part of the greatest generation in America, making bombs for WW2 in Joliet, IL. When she returned home, she was a homemaker and had many jobs. But most notably a cook and janitor at Beaver Creek Elementary School. Delsie was affectionately called Grandma. Granny Lynch, The Gran and Dorean by all who knew and loved her. She loved gardening, cooking, quilting, watching Cardinals Baseball games, eating pizza and visiting, and watching her birds and endless hours doing word search puzzles.

She was a member of Pleasant Union Congregational Church.

Visitation and funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3, 2025 from 11am to 1pm with funeral services at 1pm. at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro with Reverand Rodney Brock officiating. Delsie will be laid to rest at Springer Cemetery near Blairsville.
