The Edwards County 4-H Food and Clothing Show took place Monday, evening showcasing the talents and hard work of local 4-H members. The event featured judging of food exhibits by Sharlee Aaron, Bonita Thomason, and Rachel Rodgers, along with clothing judging conducted by Sheila Zurliene.
In the clothing division, Aleya Bare earned the prestigious Best of Show award in Clothing III and was selected as a State Fair Delegate. Madilyn Wingard received the Best of Show in Shopping in Style and will also represent Edwards County at the State Fair. Kyntlee Kelsey was named a State Fair Delegate in Clothing I. Additionally, Gabriel Andrews and Madilynn Wingard were chosen as State Fair Alternates in Clothing I.
The food portion of the show highlighted exceptional talent as well. Best of Show awards went to multiple participants across various categories, including Mayleigh Terry, Izabella Leggero, and Cooper Lynch in Cooking 101; Kelly Hinderliter, Kyntlee Kelsey, and Evalynn Edwards in Cooking 201; Isabella Jones, Madison Miller, and Zoey Weedon in Cooking 301; Ellie Troyer and Landon Loyd in Cooking 401; and Hallie Shelton and Aly Williams in Food Preservation, specializing in Dehydrating and Jams and Jellies, respectively.
Seven young chefs earned the honor of being named State Fair Delegates: Mayleigh Terry, Isabella Jones, Kayleigh Sanford, Hallie Shelton, Kelly Hinderliter, Aly Williams, and Ellie Troyer. Four others—Kyntlee Kelsey, Elise Rude, Madison Miller, and Izabella Leggero—were designated as State Fair Alternates.
The food science category recognized outstanding work as well, with Best of Show ribbons awarded to Hayley Perry in Food Science IV, Hannah Bare in Global Gourmet, and Zoey Bare in Science Fun with Kitchen Chemistry. Hannah Bare and Hayley Perry will represent Edwards County at the State Fair as their official delegates.
