HEAVY RAINS LATE MONDAY NIGHT RESULTED IN HIGHWAY 45 NORTH OF GEFF BEING CLOSED

Heavy rains in the northern part of Wayne County late Monday night resulted in Highway 45 north of Geff closed by Illinois State Police due to flash flooding in the area.  The highway is now reopened.  Heavy rains were reported just before midnight with reports of water over the roadway on Illinois Route 1 between St. Francisville and Mt. Carmel.  Side streets were reported to be flooded in many areas with some areas receiving between 3 to 4 inches of rain.
