The Wayne County Democratic Party held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, June 25th, with seven members in attendance. The group discussed a range of topics, including upcoming events, community outreach, and preparations for the 2026 election cycle.
State budget talking points, provided by the Illinois Democratic County Chairs Association, were shared during the meeting and will soon be made available to the public.
Cassy Fuller, party chairperson, reported that the recent Flag Day mini event held at the Farmers Market was a success. The positive response has inspired participation in the Market again on Saturday, July 5. Handheld American flags and pride flags will be available at the booth.
Efforts are already underway to create a county-specific political guide for the March 2026 election. Volunteers are currently being recruited to staff the party booth at several upcoming community events, including:
Cisne Reunion (August 7–9)
Geff Frontier Days (September 6)
Fairfield Fall Fun Fest (September 18–20)
Wayne City Bean Days (September 27–28)
At each of these events, the Democratic Party booth will offer voter registration assistance, opportunities for volunteer sign-up, a Trunk or Treat book fundraiser, and collections for State Representative Dave Severin’s plastic cap recycling project.
Those interested in volunteering can reach out to Chairperson Cassy Fuller through the party’s Facebook or Instagram page or by emailing 618dems@gmail.com.
The next Wayne County Democratic Party meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 16 at 6:00 p.m. at the Wayne County Courthouse.
