The City of Fairfield will host their fireworks display tonight (Thursday) at Southwest Park.
The event runs from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with fireworks to follow at dark. Families can enjoy a wide variety of attractions, including:

3RD ANNUAL MARY LOU MUSIC FEST SET FOR SATURDAY ALONG WITH CISNE FIRE DEPARTMENT FIREWORKS AT 9PM
Residents in Cisne are gearing up for the third annual Mary Lou Fest, scheduled to take place on Saturday at 102 Duker Drive in Cisne. The festival promises a fun-filled day with before and after fireworks displays, along with live music and dancing. The Cisne Fire Department will hold their annual fireworks display at approximately 9pm. The display will be south of the Cisne High School.
Gilbert Simmons, organizer of Mary Lou Fest says musicians will include; Johnny Williams, Mark Withrow, Kevin Steele, Everett Williams, Jim Garrett, Terry Smith, Ian Kemper, and Randy Wilson, among others. Attendees can enjoy a lively atmosphere with music, dancing, and fireworks lighting up the night sky.
Parking for the event will be available at Cisne Middle School, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for comfortable viewing. The festival is a family-friendly event, with no public restroom facilities available on-site, so plan accordingly.
Food vendors will be available, and the event is a great opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate.

MT VERNON’S 39TH ANNUAL SALUTE TO FREEDOM SET FOR JULY 4TH AT OUTLAND AIRPORT
Mt. Vernon’s Salute to Freedom celebration returns for its 39th year on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the Mt. Vernon Outland Airport. This free, family-friendly event promises an evening full of live entertainment, delicious food, exciting activities, and a dazzling fireworks show.
Gates open at 5:00 p.m. with free admission and parking. A wide range of local food vendors will be on-site to satisfy every craving, including American Ice Cream, Billy Bob’s BBQ, El Ranch Taco Truck, Simply Soul, Snowie, Taco Jo’s, and many more.
In addition to the food options, families can enjoy pay-to-play activities such as inflatables, face painting, laser tag, gelly ball, and a mobile arcade. Providers include Brandy’s Fancy Faces, Party Up Inflatables, and R & J Entertainment.
Shoppers can browse a variety of Market Days vendors featuring local goods and crafts. Participating vendors include 618 Freeze Dried Sweets & Treats, The Happy Hippie, Avon, SPIRIT OF ART, Punk You Out, Gene’s Fishing & Pointy Things, and others.
Live entertainment begins at 5:00 p.m. with a DJ set, followed by a performance from Edwin Linson at 6:30 p.m. The evening concludes with a grand fireworks display around 9:00 p.m.
To assist with parking, the Mt. Vernon Lions Club will provide shuttle service. After the fireworks, those needing transportation back to their vehicles can find assistance at the Mt. Vernon Tourism tent near the main stage.
Attendees are reminded that no personal fireworks, including sparklers, or pets are allowed on the event grounds.

ENFIELD SET TO HOST FULL DAY OF FUN FOR 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION
The Enfield Park will host a full schedule of 4th of July festivities on Friday, July 4th with food, games, music, and fireworks for the whole family.
The celebration kicks off bright and early at 8:00 a.m. with a softball tournament, followed by the arrival of food trucks throughout the day. Attendees can enjoy local favorites including:

Westbrook Acres at 5:00 p.m.
Afternoon highlights include a cornhole tournament at 4:00 p.m., free kids games from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and water misters to help cool off from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A craft and vendor fair will run from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., offering a variety of shopping and local goods.
Live music will begin at 5:00 p.m. and continue into the evening, keeping the patriotic spirit alive leading up to the always-popular ATV and golf cart parade at 7:30 p.m.

FLORA SET TO CELEBRATE FOURTH OF JULY WITH FULL DAY OF FAMILY FUN, FOOD, AND FIREWORKS
The City of Flora is gearing up for a star-spangled Independence Day celebration packed with activities for all ages on Friday, July 4, culminating in a dazzling fireworks show at dusk at the fairgrounds.
The day kicks off at 10:00 a.m. with the All American Boy & Girl Contest on the Old Kiwanis Stage. Simultaneously, the Clay County Country Club will host its annual 4th of July Golf Scramble, with tee time set for 10:00 a.m.
Hosted by the Flora Chamber of Commerce, a Cornhole Tournament begins with check-in at 10:00 a.m., followed by bag toss play at 11:00 a.m. Throughout the day, families can enjoy a wide range of activities including face painting from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and the Kid Zone from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. ($10 armband required). The popular Lucky R Petting Zoo will be open from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Emergency services take center stage with Big Trucks in a Small Town (EMS Edition) from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m., followed by a Sons of the American Revolution Display from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Food lovers will have plenty to choose from, with food trucks set up near the playground from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Featured vendors include Poe’d Smoked BBQ, The Fair Lady, Krazy Sweet Treats, and Pokorney’s Kettle Corn.
Evening entertainment, organized by Visit Flora Tourism, begins at 6:30 p.m. with a live performance by Music City Misfits, followed by Colton Cline from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m., and another Music City Misfits set running until the fireworks begin. A line dance class with Doug & Debi Leak is also scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Food trucks return for the evening, with Gilly’s Smokeshow and The Fair Lady & Krazy Sweet Treats serving from 5:30 p.m. until dusk. Meanwhile, those looking to cool off can enjoy a night swim at the city pool from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The grand finale of the day — the Fireworks Show — will light up the skies over the Flora Fairgrounds at dusk.
