Nissan is issuing a recall for thousands of vehicles in the U.S. because of faulty parts that could cause engine failure.
According to a NHTSA recall report, engine bearings within certain models under its brand and the Infiniti brand may have a “manufacturing defect”. The defect could cause engine damage and potentially lead to engine failure. The company said owners could encounter an “abnormal noise” from the engine compartment, as well as rough running, malfunction indicator lights or instrument cluster warning messages if their vehicle is experiencing problems with its bearings.
Nissan says “a remedy is available”, and affected vehicle owners would receive a notification letter with instructions to bring their vehicle in for inspection and any needed repairs.
