The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a stolen 2021 Honda Pioneer 1000 side-by-side UTV valued at $20,000 from a residence at 2121 County Road 2875E  in Noble in Wayne County.    The suspect, 19-year-old Christopher Paul Tharp from Madison County Indiana was being detained by a Richland County Sheriff’s Deputy at the scene.  Upon further questioning, Tharp admitted to stealing the UTV after a red-four-wheeler, also believed stolen, became stuck in a nearby wooded area.  The UTV was recovered after becoming stuck in the woods. A thermal drone search located the four-wheeler in a drainage ditch, but no additional suspects were found.  Tharp faces charges of Theft over $500 in Wayne County and additional charges in Richland County for the stolen four-wheeler.  Tharp is being held in the Wayne County Jail awaiting a court appearance.
